Sometimes the story we are living is done. It may have once even been beautiful. But we know, deep in our bones, there’s more for us.

Today I thought it important to mention that in order to live our way to something, we also must live our way through something.

One year, as I was waiting in line with my daughter to get ice cream, I heard one of the moms say, as she was scooping the precious balls of cream, “You get what you get so don’t throw a fit.”

I know that is true for you. A light worker taught me this phrase close to 20 years ago. I was at the beginning of having a very different experience as a human and it was helpful at the time.

No matter what, however, leaving a container is not easy.

I was born to be Ellen. And as Ellen, I happen to be your mom. I will be your mom as only I, Ellen, can be.

This awareness did not feel good. In the blink of an eye I saw how I had been self-abandoning in order to feel loved, seen and worthy.

At first it was like Satan rolled up on his motorcycle. But not too many moments later I recognized the absurdity of this very Catholic idea.

Self-Renewal is resuming being your Self after interruption.

And this awareness IS LIFE. When I become aware of what is happening, of what I am doing from this stubborn habit and pattern, it makes way for the light.

The reality is this: No one is YOU. You were born as a distinct expression.
