PEACE
Peace is flowing like a river.
Flowing out of you and me.
Flowing out into the desert.
Setting all the captives free.
These are lyrics from a favorite song I used to sing in church.
They speak to a knowing deep within me: we have the ability to live freely as the flow that we are, but until that point, we are captives in the desert of our own making.
Peace is something outside of us until it isn’t.
When it’s outside of us, we are continually chasing it … captives in the desert.
Once we BE it, we flow freely.
As captives in the desert, peace is something the “other” has for us. Maybe we think if that person would just do or say this or that, I would feel better. Or maybe it’s a situation … we think, if that particulars of the situation would change, I would feel better.
The truth is, Peace is ALWAYS possible regardless of what the “other” is saying or doing and whatever the situation.
Opening to the experience of Peace in your body, heart and mind is not easy because it requires you to do things differently.
Only I know what this is for me. And only you know what this is for you.
This is Christmas Day. A day of BIRTH AND LIGHT. It is a perfect time to allow the PEACE that you are and have always been, to be born and to shine.
