THE DEEP (SLUMBER) STATE

It’s been nearly 20 years since my Soul roused me from my deep slumber state.

I’ve written and shared about this before but I am compelled to share again.

I was living my life and one day in the summer of 2006, I heard these words come out of my mouth: I DON’T WANT TO LIVE LIKE THIS ANYMORE.

There was no one else around, so clearly I was talking to me. It was profound. Not something I could ignore. I could not go back to unknowing these words that had, in fact, come out of my mouth.

What did it mean exactly? I did not know at the time.

Over time, what I’ve come to know deeply, is that each of us, every one, is distinct - a unique formation of energy. And that each of us, every one, is here to express the unique formation of energy that we are.

Over time, I’ve grown to understand through my own experience that true confidence, and therefore, leadership, does not come from regurgitation of something outside of me.

Rather true confidence, and therefore, leadership, lies in BEing the unique formation of energy I am (you are).

The work is moment to moment, claiming the courage to express fully, wholly and completely.

In my deep slumber state, there was a middleman between my essence and how I showed up in the world. That middleman comprised a grouping of ideas that told me how I should and should not be and what I should and should not do.

My BEing was muted.

Joy is what happened when I began to express from the Truth (unique energy formation) of who I am.

Joy is not happy all the time.

Joy is expression. Complete and total. No holding back.

I am awake.
